In India, the Permanent Account Number, or PAN, is extremely important for identification verification as well as income tax purposes. Due to its importance in filing Income Tax Returns, opening bank accounts, and other important financial transactions as well as proof of identity, it becomes extremely important to have the details on the card updated and correct. However, there are times when we find mistakes and want to update/correct our PAN card when the PAN card is printed.
Future issues may arise from any incorrect data on your PAN. So it is advised to correct the mistakes and inaccuracies in your PAN as soon as possible. These changes can be your name, parent’s name, date of birth, email address, phone number, contact details, or Aadhaar number. The required changes can be made online with minimal fees from your home.
