Forbes has released its latest 2024 list of the world’s billionaires. The latest Forbes 2024 list of the world’s Billionaires includes 200 Indians, up from 169 the year before. With a 41% rise from $675 billion in 2023, the combined wealth of these billionaire Indians is $954 billion.
The number of people on the Forbes Billionaires List is 2,781, which is 141 more than the previous year’s list. China has 473 billionaires, whereas the United States has a record 813 billionaires. India currently has 200 billionaires on the list, 31 more than it had in the previous year.
Indian Billionaires on the List
Mukesh Ambai, the chairman of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), continues to be ranked highest among the Indians included on the list with a net worth of $116 billion. Ambani became the first Indian to be included in the $100 billion club with a 39.76% rise in net worth.
Gautam Adani, who has added $36.8 billion to his net worth of $84 billion, ranked as the second richest Indian. Shiv Nadar, the co-founder of HCL, ranked as the third richest Indian with a net worth of $36.9 billion.
Savitri Jindal has emerged as the richest Indian woman with a net worth of $33.5 billion in the 2024 billionaire list. Notably, she has ranked as the fourth richest Indian, witnessing a jump from sixth place in 2023.
The Forbes 2024 list also includes 25 new Indian billionaires, including well-known people like Naresh Trehan, Ramesh Kunhikannan, and Renuka Jagtiani.
Interestingly, Byju Raveendran, the founder of Edtech Company BYJU’S has fallen off the recently released Forbes Billionaire Index 2024 list. A year ago his net worth was $2.1 billion, which plummeted to zero in 2024.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, Inc., is ranked as the second richest person with a net worth of $195 billion. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is ranked the third richest person globally with a net worth of $194 billion. Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, is the next person on the list with a $177 billion net worth.
